As early as 1930 the first Japanese excavator was manufactured by Kobelco. As an independent subsidiary of a Japanese steel manufacturer Kobelco Construction Machinery has been focused on the production of crawler excavators over decades. This includes the construction of short-tail excavators or the Invention of the patented iNDr technology. The product range starts with the 1 ton mini excavator and goes up to the 80 ton hydraulic excavator.
All Kobelco mini excavators are designed as short-radius machines. So all operations can be carried out easily and safely even on narrow work sites, as the tail of the machine remains within the chain width when swinging. Thanks to the swing able boom you can directly dig vertically to adjacent objects. The SK10 and SK17 are furthermore equipped with a hydraulically adjustable undercarriage. The smaller models are available with canopy roof instead of cabin on request.
Kobelco is considered the inventor of the most modern short radius (SR) excavators from Japan. The new series has been developed according to customer demand for more performance and economy. The heart of the SR models is the revolutionary iNDr system (Integrated Noise & Dust Reduction), which allows a drastic reduction of noise emissions. The perfect excavator for easy and trouble-free use in densely populated urban areas or narrow forestry and road work sites.
For special tasks, there must be special machines. Therefore, some of the proven crawler excavators were equipped with special equipment for special tasks.
